I'd say you were a smart mommy since it is not a question if, but when she'd want them pierced. Like you, I was just following my mommy intuition since it was telling me earlier was better.
We pierced our girls early after our ped encouraged us to go ahead when mommy could care for them. She gave me some tips for care of "newly pierced ears." Don't know if you need this, but write me an e-mail if you'd like our peds suggestions.
Mine were done early, but I was unsure. However, I kept seeing all these cute babies and little girls with pierced earrings.
